Each year on Halloween night I enjoy sitting out on the front porch and talking to the children who come to “trick or treat”. I wear something special and keep a pendulum with me. (You know – a pendulum is a stone or gem at the end of a chain that moves in response to questions based on mental, not physical, energy. ) I often ask them if they would like to have their “fortune told” using the pendulum.
Well, of course, most say yes. So they hold the pendulum still with their small hands, and imagine or talk to me about their desire. And of course the pendulum reads, moving “magically” in answer their questions. I direct them to look for what they wish (rather than what they are afraid of or hope will not happen). They are always pleased and amazed to see the pendulum moving, because it is saying their dreams will come true.
Sometimes they ask how it works, but most of the children take it completely on faith; they inherently understand why it works. Still, I tell them the pendulum answers based on the wisdom their broader selves and on their own energy.
Of course, where I live, many of the children are from cultures where psychic experiences are quite common, so there is nothing very outlandish about any of this. Many tell me their grand mothers, aunts, family friends are psychic or they have visited a seer and so on.
What strikes me most is the loveliness of the children’s questions, which I thought I’d share with you today. Mostly the children line up to ask about their relationships. How lovely it is to see a young person asking me if their true love will be with them forever. One boy asked if he would marry his high school sweetheart. Two girls asked if they would date the boy of their dreams.
One charming fellow said he likes to visit each year and knew exactly what to do. He took the pendulum in his slender hand, closed his eyes, imagining his question, and smiled broadly as he saw his answer revealed.
Another little gentleman asked if his parents would have long and healthy lives. The love he felt for his parents was shining all around him.
One boy’s question struck deep to my soul. He was about 12, maybe 13, and he was with his mother. He was curious if he’d be able to complete his health program with the doctor. In his body, he harbored fear. And yet his soul was bright and shining, more than any other child I’d seen that evening and palpable love coming from his tender, gracious soul.
I ask if you are reading this, to send a message a vibrational message to this boy; a message welcoming him to himself, to the allowing of his completeness and a realization of his own beauty. Imagine him in his completeness. I am sure he will hear you and he will be well.
Blessings. Until we meet again.
What a lovely post! I love Halloween, and not because of the gory stuff, but because it’s a night people embrace their inner child and allow themselves to have fun.
Sending light to the little guy of the post. Children are so precious; what a gift it is to see the light in their eyes when they talk about their dreams and the people they love.
Great read! Your breakdown of the topic is commendable. For further reading, here’s a useful resource: READ MORE. Let’s discuss!
